Trustrobot Software recently secured a large order from Fuyao Glass, becoming one of the first technology partners of the Fuyao Research Institute, and will provide robot programming and simulation technology and products for Fuyao Group's global factories. Company Chairman Jin Zili was invited to attend the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute 2020 Project Cooperation Signing Ceremony on December 15, 2020, co-hosted by the Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District Management Committee and Fuyao Group, and jointly organized by the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute, Suzhou Industrial Park Science and Education Development Promotion Association, and the University of Dayton China Institute.
Attendees included Lin Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, Xu Wenqing, Party Secretary of the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District, Pan Yu, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of the Management Committee, and Shen Yan, Deputy Director. Secretary Xu noted in his speech that the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District is an important functional area of the Industrial Park, bearing the important responsibility of industry-education integration and innovation development. Since establishing in the Innovation District this year, the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute has been committed to innovating industry-university-research cooperation models, enabling technology to originate from the demand side and precisely match the supply side, forming a number of technical cooperation achievements.
Meanwhile, the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute has actively collaborated with renowned domestic and international university research teams through the Innovation District's quality platform, leading industry frontier technology and establishing cooperation outcomes in the park, contributing to the Innovation District's innovation development. Fuyao Group Vice President Jiang Bingming provided a detailed introduction of the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute's industry-university-research cooperation. Since 2017, Fuyao Group has established Fuyao Glass (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in Suzhou, co-built the China-US Youth Maker Exchange Center with the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District and the University of Dayton China Institute, and founded the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute.
Looking ahead, the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute will continue to release various technical requirements to realize the vision of "achieving a delightful driving experience through a piece of glass," advancing hand in hand with cooperation partners, gathering innovative wisdom, and scaling the heights of technology. In May 2020, the Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute released seven technology development cooperation requirements through the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District platform, attracting attention and responses from numerous universities and research institutes, and actively conducting related matchmaking and communication.
At the event, Fuyao Group signed cooperation intent letters with seven institutional representatives including the CAS Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing Trustrobot Software Technology Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, the National Engineering Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing of Large Metal Components at Beihang University, and the Lightweight Research Institute of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology. At the event, Academician Wang Huaming of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing of Large Metal Components and Professor at Beihang University's School of Materials, shared the cooperation project "Application of Wear-resistant and Temperature-resistant Alloys in Mold Development."
Wang Huaming's research primarily focuses on laser preparation science and engineering of high-performance metal materials, laser additive manufacturing technology for large complex critical metal components, and laser surface engineering. He pioneered the new research field of laser cladding transition metal silicide high-temperature wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant multifunctional coating materials, with results applied in the development and production of aircraft, missiles, aviation engines, and other equipment. Wang Weiping, Associate Provost of the University of Dayton and Director of the University of Dayton China Institute, introduced the background and vision of the three-party cooperation among the Innovation District, Fuyao Group, and the University of Dayton and its China Institute via remote video.
This event represents the fruits of the Fuyao Research Institute's innovative industry-university-research cooperation model, and will continue to explore new pathways for such cooperation through the Science and Education Innovation District.
