From November 5th to 7th, the biennial Optoelectronics Industry Summit Forum and the 2020 CAS Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM) Alumni Industry Forum was successfully held in Fuyang, Hangzhou. Outstanding SIOM alumni, industry elites, and senior institute members gathered together to discuss industry development trends, prospects, and cooperation models, and to strategize for industry growth. The forum aimed to strengthen collaboration through exchange, jointly promote innovation in the optoelectronics industry, and drive local economic development. Attendees included SIOM Director Shao Jianda, Party Secretary Chen Weibiao, Fuyang District Party Secretary Wu Yufeng, and Hangzhou Science and Technology Bureau Party Secretary Zhou Yang.
The forum was chaired by Deputy Director Zhang Long. Shao Jianda delivered the opening remarks on behalf of SIOM and presented a keynote report titled "Standing at the Forefront of Reform and Innovation, Scaling the Heights of Laser Technology, Implementing the Strategy of Strengthening the Nation Through Science and Technology, and Building a World-Class Research Institution." He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the strong support from the Fuyang District government and warmly welcomed all guests. He noted that SIOM actively implements the important directives on scientific and technological innovation, aligns with the national strategy of Yangtze River Delta regional integration, continuously promotes deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and is committed to bridging scientific innovation with industrial chains.
