Jiangsu Automation Development Forum Held in Nanjing

On October 17th, the "Jiangsu Automation Development Forum" was successfully held in Nanjing, organized by the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference Committee, hosted by the Nanjing Automation and Instrument Association, Jiangsu Automation Society, and Nanjing Intelligent Manufacturing Society Consortium, and jointly executed by the Nanjing Automation and Instrument Association, Phoenix Contact (China) Investment Co., Ltd., and Nanjing Ube Electric Co., Ltd. The forum was themed "Intelligent Technology Leads the Future." Over 150 experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives from across the country attended the event.

The forum was chaired by Mr. Dong Jian, Executive Vice President of the Nanjing Automation and Instrument Association and General Manager of Nanjing Ube Electric. Mr. Gu Jiandang, President of the Nanjing Automation and Instrument Association and President of Phoenix Contact (China) Investment Co., Ltd., delivered the welcome address on behalf of the association, warmly welcoming delegates from across the country. Since its inception in 2012, this year marks the eighth consecutive year of the "Jiangsu Automation Development Forum." The forum keeps pace with global automation development and national strategy, promoting research and application of automation technology.

Intelligent science and technology are now moving from universities and research institutes into society, achieving some successful applications, some with considerable scale. To promote the application of intelligent technology, the forum specially invited four research experts still working on the front lines to introduce research, application achievements, and development prospects of intelligent technology in different fields. Industrial design and simulation is a new science and technology that has developed rapidly over the past 30 years and has been widely applied, combining numerous disciplines including computer science, mechanical design, materials, mathematics, mechanics, and control technology.

Using virtual simulation technology, factories can pre-plan production line layouts, equipment configurations, manufacturing process paths, and logistics. Based on "rehearsals" in simulation models, analysis, evaluation, and verification can be conducted to quickly identify operational issues and areas for improvement, allowing timely adjustments and optimization — reducing changes and rework to physical systems during subsequent production execution, effectively lowering costs, shortening timelines, and improving efficiency. The forum specially invited Mr. Jin Zili, Chairman and General Manager of Nanjing Trustrobot Software Technology Co., Ltd., to deliver a speech. Starting from the concept of digital factories, Mr. Jin comprehensively introduced the definition and functions of production system simulation software, presented the simulation design process and results, and discussed the development trends of production process simulation.

Mr. Jin's excellent presentation introduced intelligent technology research, applications, achievements, and future development directions across different industrial fields. Intelligentization is a new development process of automation technology, and it is also the necessary foundation for smartization. Intelligentization first requires perception of everything in the world, placing new demands on sensing and detection technology; it requires comprehensive analysis of massive data, pattern extraction, and knowledge accumulation, placing higher demands on data storage and processing; in many fields, intelligentization also requires timely response, placing new demands on computer processing capability and speed.

Intelligent technology is the inevitable result of the integrated development of detection technology, control technology, and data processing technology, built on the foundation of sensors and computers. Intelligent science is flourishing, and intelligent technology leads the future.
